The Isle of Man Government has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to the iGaming sector ahead of industry engagement at ICE 2026, reinforcing the Island’s position as a stable, internationally respected jurisdiction for well-regulated operators.
For the industry, the message is clear. Political support for iGaming in mature jurisdictions goes hand in hand with deeper regulatory scrutiny, not reduced expectations. As regulatory frameworks evolve, the focus increasingly shifts from whether policies exist to whether controls actually work in practice.
From an assurance perspective, this distinction is critical.
Across established gambling jurisdictions, regulators are moving beyond static compliance assessments towards a more outcomes-focused approach. Governance structures, safer gambling controls, risk management processes and board oversight are being examined not just on design, but on effectiveness, consistency and real-world impact.
This is particularly relevant in the context of national risk assessments, supervisory refinement and increased information-sharing between authorities.
In such environments, operators that can evidence how controls operate day-to-day, and how issues are identified, escalated and addressed, are far better positioned than those relying on theoretical frameworks or untested procedures.
“In high-assurance jurisdictions, confidence is built through evidence. Regulators and boards are increasingly asking not just whether policies are in place, but whether they are understood, applied consistently and achieving their intended outcomes. Independent assurance plays a vital role in bridging that gap between design and delivery." - Emma Shilling, Director
The Isle of Man’s reaffirmed commitment to iGaming should therefore be viewed as an endorsement of quality, transparency and accountability. For operators, this creates a clear incentive to proactively test and validate their control environments rather than waiting for regulatory intervention.
At eGaming Integrity, we see growing demand for independent assurance that goes beyond checkbox compliance. Structured audits, control testing and evidence based reviews provide boards and senior management with a clearer understanding of regulatory risk and demonstrate to stakeholders that commitments to safer gambling and good governance are being delivered in practice.
As regulatory expectations continue to mature, independent assurance is becoming less about reassurance and more about resilience.
